Dimitri Mavrikos and his two brothers, Steve and George Mavrikos, came to Victoria from Vancouver with the dream of opening their own restaurant. Their goal was to open a restaurant that not only offered excellent food but great service and a fun casual atmosphere as well. They founded Romeo's in 1974.

The first Romeo's restaurant opened on Hillside Ave., and was embraced enthusiastically by the people of Victoria. It was an instant success, the second Romeo's location opened downtown on Johnson St. shortly after. It was a very popular place to go to for lunch, dinner and late night meals after a night out on the town. In the following years, while adhering to the same original philosophy that brought them success, they branched out and opened more locations across Vancouver island.

There are currently five Romeo's locations on the Island, and we are excited to an nounce the opening of our sixth! Our newest Romeo's will be a return to the downtown core in January 2012. We feel honoured and blessed to be celebrating 37 successful years in the restaurant industry, we pride ourselves in consistently offering award winning pizza and pasta to our loyal and discerning customers. At the same time, we are continuously striving to improve in this evolving industry. We are excited about moving forward in this new direction and we believe that the opening of our new downtown location will signify the next chapter in the Romeo's story.
