Verve Fashions opened its doors in 1996 providing Victorians the opportunity to shop designer labels for both men and women at 60 to 70% off the regular retail price. Donna Anderson, owner of Hughes Clothing, opened Verve to provide an outlet for her clients to re-sell their designer labels and pass on these labels to Verve customers at affordable prices.
In 2000, Lori Nagel became Donna Anderson’s partner in Verve and in January 2006 Lori Nagel
became the sole owner of Verve and continues to run the store with the
help of her fabulous sales staff. The store is a bright and spacious
2500 square foot building in downtown Victoria which offers designer labels such as Armani, Gucci, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Juicy Couture, Lida Baday, Inwear, Matinique, Sandwich and many more Canadian and International labels.
The experienced staff provides personalized service and
help customers create a wardrobe that is both fashion forward and
affordable.
Verve works closely with several
charities and organizations that benefit people in need. Unsold items
are donated to one of three organizations:
- Single Parents Association, wherein both men and women
get the benefit of the donated clothes - it is one of the only
organizations that helps out men.
- Wear 2 Start, an organization that helps women
re-enter the work force by providing each women with several work
appropriate outfits, lessons on hair and make-up and preparation of
their resume.
- Artemis Place (formerly the GAP program) offers unwed
mothers and/or pregnant teenage girls an opportunity to finish their
education. And finally,
- The Salvation Army, which employs local people and the proceeds from the sale of donated items remains in our community.
Verve continues to grow and remains a leader in the designer consignment industry
