High Efficiency Electric Motors play an important role in energy saving and in 1997 both the Canadian and U.S.A. governments introduced new Energy Efficiency Regulations which mandate that electric motors (1 to 200HP) manufactured after October 1997 must meet established minimum efficiencies. Baldor-Reliance has always been a leader in efficiency and in 1997 they introduced their "Standard E" product which meets or exceeds the energy regulations. Customers can now choose from the "Standard E" or the "Super E" Premium Efficiency Motor, which has been marketed for several years.

Adjustable Speed Drives also contribute to energy saving and they can substantially reduce operating costs, which translates to the bottom-line profitability of the user company.
