What do I need to know about brewing to make my own beer at The Brew Works? -Absolutely nothing. We provide you with the recipes, ingredients, and equipment and guide you through the entire process. It’s fun and easy! How long does it take to brew a batch? -Approximately 1 ½ hours of your time to brew. We will then keep it for 14 days to complete the fermentation and conditioning process, which takes place in our temperature controlled facilities. How much beer is in a batch? -One batch equals 50 liters, or the equivalent of about 12 dozen bottles of beer. If you’re thinking that’s too much beer for me, bring a friend or two and share! How much does it cost? -The majority of our beers are between $115 and $135. Some of the darker stouts and ales can be $10 or $15 more. What kind of beer can I make? -We have over 50 recipes. You can produce a large variety of beers, including ales and lagers, from light beers to stout. We are certain we can satisfy any beer drinkers taste buds! How long will my beer last? -There are no preservatives in our beer so it does have a shelf life. It will last a minimum of two months if stored in a cool dark place. If refrigerated it will easily last 6 months. What about bottles? -We sell both plastic bottles and cans. Our plastic bottles come in 500ml or 1 liter sizes and are re-usable. They cost 60 cents per 500ml and 90 cents per 1 liter Our cans are standard size and sell for $31 per batch. Feel free to bring in glass bottles from your “private collection” or ask a favor of a local pub and restaurant. You’ll need about 12 dozen bottles and we strongly suggest pre-cleaning before sanitizing your bottles in-store. *Import bottles work best! |
