Michael Beseau Pencil Art
Description
Michael spends most of his time doing highly detailed renderings of the wildlife, flowers and architecture in and around Victoria. His primary medium is pen and ink, specifically stipple illustration (dots). Due to the exacting and unforgiving nature of this medium, as well as the enormous amount of time required to complete each of his drawings, Michael has quickly become one of Vancouver Island’s crabbiest artists.
Each of the drawings begins with a trip somewhere, too many photographs, a line drawing, two or three rapidograph pens and a single dot. The drawing ends approximately 1.5 million to 2.5 million dots later, depending on the size and complexity of the work, and may have taken up to 150 hours.
Occasionally our artwork and jewellery selections change, so please contact Sooke Harbour House for pricing and availability. We will be happy to hear from you and answer any questions that you have.
