Description

The Virginia Creeper has vines made up of a woody step with leaves that are composed of four of fives leafs. It's white flowers bloom closer to the end of summer producing dark, yet bright blue fruit in the early fall. The Virginia creeper is often mistaken for poison ivy but can be deciphered by the number of leaves. The shelter afforded by Virginia creeper provides places for warblers and other songbirds to nest and gain protection from predators and harsh weather. The Virginia creeper loves sun and a place to climb, but seems very tolerant of shady areas and can thrive without support.
